Thenetwork includes Dream of Detroit sponsoring community-basedhousing and land development, the Muslim Center mosque andcommunity center (w/ its famous jazz cafe) and the Huda Free Clinic andCommunity Gardens. The residency program will eventually invite 4 - 6artists each year to live and work in the city of Detroit. Preference is givento artists from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds with a specificfocus on artists from South Asia and the Middle East. Indus Detroit will host the first Halal Metropolis exhibiting in June-July 2019, concentrating on origins of the Muslim community.

Community Fence Mural at the Muslim Center of Detroit (Dexter Linwood): 150 foot Chain link fence mural, inspired by Islamic geometries, West African textiles, Palestinian cross-stitch, and Kashmiri embroidery, was installed in front of the Muslim Center of Detroit. The project was a collaboration between myself, Indus Detroit, Halal Metropolis, Dream of Detroit and the Muslim Center of Detroit.
