Community Fence Mural

Community Fence Mural at the Muslim Center of Detroit (Dexter Linwood): The community wanted to transform an alleyway into a pedestrian walkway and was looking for a way to beautify the adjoining chainlink fence. The mural for the 150-foot chainlink fence was inspired by Islamic geometries, West African textiles, Palestinian cross-stitch, and Kashmiri embroidery, and was installed in front of the Muslim Center of Detroit. The fence design was developed through a collaborative effort with the community, with the community assisting in the installation of it as well. The project was a collaboration between myself, Indus Detroit, Halal Metropolis, Dream of Detroit, and the Muslim Center of Detroit.
